Cell Tower Telco/Power Sr. Project Manager – Division Manager

CVC, Inc. Southern California                                          (2006-2008)

Manage T-Mobile Market. Deploy Contract Project Managers to assigned site walks. Review contractor site designs. Provide Power/Telco expertise for several markets, Sprint, Sprint/Nextel, Verizon Wireless, Metro PCS & T-Mobile.  Create electronic drawings, obtain Fault Current Reports, oversee Utility Coordination, Monitor Site Activity.  Track sites, dates, progress with EXCEL spreadsheets. Emphasis is structured around time-deliverable milestones, for example, initial Site Design must be completed within 3 days of the original site walk.

 

Brought in additional work to expand CVC’s service Footprint.  Engineered and Project Managed 5 ½ mile fiber project for Team Mobil at Ft. Irwin, Wounded Warrior Project.  Brought in JPA work from NextG.  Brought CVC together with Novacom to pair up as a turn key Cell Site Provider.

 

 

FTTP Engineer/Planner

Verizon, Victorville, CA.                                                        (2004-2006)

Plan and Engineer the first FTTP (Fiber to the Premise)  Fiber Backbone Routes, HUB sizes, fiber sizes and counts, for Apple Valley and Victorville.  Create Fiber Strand Schematics for tracking all fiber paths, aerial, underground, slack loop and splice loop fiber sequentials, and Kilofeet from the Central Office.  Create tracking spreadsheets for all backbone conduit, backbone fiber and tracts that became the Company Standard Tracking Sheet for the Inland Empire and Desert Areas.

 

JPA Engineer

Verizon, Victorville, CA.                                                        (2004)

Process, field, and engineer required work for the significant backlog of Joint Pole Authorizations in the Victorville/High Desert area.  Processed approximately 150 to 200 JPA’s monthly.

 

Outside Plant Manager

Time Warner Telecom, Ontario, CA.                            (2001-2004)

Time Warner Telecom bought GST in 2001.  My job title now included the additional management of 3 Engineers, warehouse personnel, Contract labor Contracts, all construction work related to new construction, maintenance and emergency restoration to the fiber network.  I continued to manage the network from Goletta/Santa Barbara south to the San Diego County Line, Palm Springs west to Orange County/Los Angeles.

Design, engineer, field and draft fiber optic sonnet loops and customer connects.  Obtain all required agency permits.  Create and submit all requests for pole, fiber, and innerduct lease agreements/contracts.  Coordinate and inspect all fiber construction.  Field inventory and record all materials used for each project.  Build inventory spreadsheets for billing, accounting and tax purposes.  Contract research and interpretation.  Mechanized project status reports.  Fiber records.  Work Order tracking.  Generate all work related correspondence.  Verify all work order related billing for accounting/payment.  Close all completed project work order files.

Engineer Assistant

Marks CableVision, San Bernardino, CA.              (1994-1995)

Field, research, draft and submit drawings and permit applications to state, county, public utility and city agencies.  Draft and generate all work related correspondence.  Work within time restraints.  Create and maintain files.  Create and update CATV underground and strand maps.

 

          * Implemented a reimbursement billing procedure for relocating existing facilities for property developers.  In                  

             the past, cable companies have absorbed these costs at a significant loss.  Trained Engineer and Construction

Responsible for maintaining existing and providing new telecommunication service for the City of Etiwanda and the Ontario International Airport.  Budget Capital Dollars.  Forecast 5 year projected growth plans, quantity and type of service.  Mechanized status reports.

Engineer Fielder

GTE-California, Upland, CA.                               (1979-1993)

Design, engineer and draft aerial, underground and direct buried outside telecommunications facilities.  Work within time restraints.  Generate all work related correspondence.

          *Spearheaded the development of a Joint Pole Authorization Procedure Handbook that

            was implemented as a Company Practice.

          *Resolved 61 customer threats to call the Public Utilities Commission (P.U.C.), by making

             personal contact and applying proven public relation techniques.

          *Engineered, designed and drafted substructure backbone for the first Fiber Optic          

            Smart Park (Centre Lake Smart Park), in the City of Ontario.  Received letter of

           Commendation.

          *Engineered and coordinated unique special circumstance multiple agency projects

            such as, the relocation of a direct buried telecommunications cable in conflict with a

            proposed box culvert for the County of  San Bernardino Flood Control crossing the

           Ontario International Airport, which is owned and operated by Los Angeles International

           Airport.

*Recovered $127,000.00 in unprocessed Joint Pole Authorizations.  Recovered an additional

            $53,000.00 in overcharges and unauthorized billings.  Received letter of Commendation.
